Cornncows position will not leave him exposed to margin calls if the price goes below $9. His 10.20 put goes up a penny for every penny down move. Looks like a good idea to me. His only exposure is beans going above $11 & not having beans in the field to cover the position. But that would be the same risk as a straight cash contract at the elevator for $11..........and no one has that good of a bid right now.
