North Central Texas | Keep a piece of 3 1/2 scrap. Cut your saddle and slam the scrap on it when it is hot. Slam it like a hammer to make the saddle true. Use a big 00 tip and cut fast to make the steel form.
3 1/2 to 2 3/8 is just a slight curve with the steel blown at an angle on the long side. Worry about your distance between post, not how perfect the saddle is. A good welder (machine) fills in the gaps. | |
