I welded an old connectin rod bearing to a piece of one inch angle. Clamp the angle where u want to make the saddle and cut with torch. Flip to the other side and repeat. If you cut good not much cleaning and no gap weld quick and on to the next one. If you had a lot to do id make one that is double for speed
