Whats everyones technique for coping pipe when you are welding in brace pipes or otherwise? Im welding in 2 3/8" in between 3 1/2" posts to make H braces and currently just grind until it fits. Is there any easier way or better technique?

Part of what what was taught in a welding apprenticeship.

Find a tinsmith pattern book. They will have layouts charts/whatever you want to call it for attaching one size pipe to another.
Cut your pattern out of light gauge sheet metal. I've used cereal box cardboard and it does work but it doesn't last real well.
