I haven't found a reliable N test yet. If mother nature gives conditions conducive to N leaching go ahead and sidedress. If not.....maybe not sidedress. It is a guessing game. Leave some test strips and yield check in the fall. I have been experimenting for 20 years. I don't think there is any test that can accurately tell you if more N is needed.
