No. Good ridge vents have baffles inside and outside. Klauer makes good vents. Also, they're designed to draw air up from the inside when the wind blows over the top, like a chimney.
Not saying that you can't get a small dusting from a major blizzard, but it's rare.
The positive effects outweigh any small negative possibilities.
