SW MN and Gold Canyon AZ | With corn @ 3$ plus a bushel ,I won't take the chance of lowering yield by trying to save .50 cents an acre on fuel pulling a 60 inch center bar.
As far a sidedressing works good if there is some loose soils to cover the trench, however I have had some notill experience in the past and trying to sidedress into the hard ground is what I will call a BURNING experience, burned corn leaves that is. If the corn leaves are getting burnt how much is being lost??
Seems like when i am about ready to sidedress corn we get 5 inchs of rain. If I could get my landlords to put some tile in, would not be a problem.
Don't have the problem on my owned ground that is pattern tiled.
Works better for me to fall apply anyway, seed business requires full attention in the spring and summer. I'm lucky I get my spraying done in june | |
