If it was mine I would wait until after the wheat came off. You won't be able to mix the lime in to really much benefit on the wheat and I would be concerned with damage to the crop. You will have a lot of trips somewhere with 3 tons and more compaction than you think when the box is full. Don't forget damage due to turning and acceleration on wet ground. If the ph is really low, in the low 5's, I would consider 200-300# of pel lime to help out now. It would be very quick reacting but not much longevity.
