I think their rec's are probably the agronomic ideal, without regard to cost. I can't always afford everything they say I need, although I realize I am trying to build up ground that has been "mined" for the last 40+ yrs.

I have seen some positive results, when all the neighbors have to spray their alfalfa for bugs, and I don't.

As Hay Wilson says, Mother Nature always bats last. Weather is still the biggest decider if I have a decent crop or not.
