Subject: RE: Educate Me On Liquid Nitrogen - 60" Centers??

Driftless SW Wisconsin

Don,

Seeing your side dress rig pictures above reminded me of a nagging question that keeps coming up around the country - can you put the same amount of N on 60" centers as 30" centers when side dressing and get the same results??

I have some customers that side dress anhydrous on 60" centers and get great crops with half of the hardware and draft loads - and other customers that swear the sky is falling if the N isn't split equally on both sides of the row.

Have you ever experimented with side dressing on 60" centers vs 30"? Anyone else ever compared the two? Is it an NH3 vs liquid thing?

We have a neat new closing/depth control arrangement for our 3004 when it is used on non-planter applications and would like to suggest 60" for cost reasons. If we can seal the slot like it had a zipper and not lose any can you go every 60" rather than every 30"?
