Is the black end peice shown a threaded casting or is it smooth square inside?If the wahser is truly a lock and it belongs in there, why doesnt it have a square hole in it so it doesnt rotate?If it rotates, it wont lock anything.It looks more like a shim or a spacer.which in that case, I would say its on backwards.But its so thin that it will bend and form its own shape upon tightening.
