Don't be too sure about there being nothing like that in Ontario.  We've had several sightings of one within a mile of our farm in the last few years.  A couple of years ago one was seen in Owen Sound, and we've heard lots of second-hand reports of various sightings around the area; too many from reliable sources to discount.

I admire these animals, but I don't want them close to my children, farm pets and livestock.
