I do not know how the series relates to the axle rating. Over the years we had three different GM trucks. Two had the 18500 rear axle rating and they had the axle wheel end as in your picture. One had a 17000 lb rated axle and it had the 5 bolt cap on the wheel end. All were electric two speed axles.
