There have been Many sideby sides with and without N-serve in NH3, in the fall. There has neve been a return for the cost of using it. We wait till the soil is cold, then don't worry about it Here. One year, we had a very wet spring. I sidedressed 50 extra units on 1 field to see if it would help. There was no difference, so it was all there.
