For at least the last decade we've gotten a (forgot to add A, it doesn't rain all January, just once) rain in January and then it freezes.  If we're lucky it doesn't freeze too many trees and power-lines but it does freeze the driveway and stays for about a month.  I hate walking on ice for a month but it often happens.

This is eastern Iowa and our high temp for January is only 32 and our average low is 14.
