Adelaide Hills, South Australia | Check out the maximum temperature for that time of year in central Australia and the humidity or lack of and decide if you can handle it. The temps could be fine but also stifling so make sure that you are well informed. That is a very long drive and ok if you are used to long days behind the wheel but very tough otherwise. Further South would be less likely to cook you and still plenty to see. Also petrol prices are higher than what you are probably used to.
