Was a good idea from MM, but it needed refining much faster than it got. Was always behind. They ended up following the specialty markets of sweet corn and small dairy farm, and just couldn't keep up.
Dad bought a bronze mule system to pick corn back in the day, he actually hated the picker once he used it and it stripped gears on the head we couldn't find any more. He actually liked the combine unit for beans and kept the thing an extra year or two for beans, not corn.
