northeastern Ohio | I have one with a double chain and hyd drive. There is still a rope pull on the hyd drive to adjust the speed, but you can set it to full open and use the scv control to set speed from the tractor (I cut the rope off and use the tractor control).
My previous NH spreader had the regular drive system. Really not that hard to pull the rope and adjust the speed. I never had any problems with either system.
My previous NH spreader had the single chain. Again, I had no problems. But I've seen spreaders with broken chains and bent slats. The double chain should be better in this regard.
So I guess if I was buying again, I would spring for the double chain, but save my money on the hyd drive. | |
