Subject: Carbon Credits

Callao, Missouri
I read in the Iowa Farmer Today (MO edition) that the National's Farmer Union is now responsible for implementing a program to sell Carbon Credits for farmers utilizing no-till, etc.

No where on NFU's website could I find what this is supposed to pay. I guess these will be traded in a market similar to the futures market, but I can't figure out a value. They did post a deadline of Nov. 3rd to sign up for the last couple of years (05 and 06 crop years). Looks to me to be something that really won't pay much, and will lead to a lot more say for other people about what I decide to do with my land.

Has anyone else looked into this?

Scott
