Our kids are all out of school now but I have heard that they no longer spend much if any time on cursive writing.
We hire a lot of high school age kids in the summertime to help at farmers markets. I would bet less than 1 in 10 can count back change without help from a computerised cash register. It is painfully embarrassing to watch some of these kids struggle with even a simple cash transaction.
