Subject: MSMA: Small chance registration to continue

Ashburn, GA, (very close to Heaven!)

I am in Memphis attending a Crop Management Seminar sponsored by Cotton Incorporated.  At dinner tonight, the hot talk is that EPA is likely to take MSMA away from us for 2007, chances of keeping it, speculatively, "about 25%".

While it is not quite as critical as it was in the days before RR, as some of us compared notes on layby and early growing season combinations, we were surprised at how common it is for MSMA to still be a major component of different tank mixes.  This is very serious, and I don't just mean serious for Georgia....

EPA listens to numbers, as in acres, weeds or whatever where we have problems.  MSMA remains a key ingredient to struggling with nutsedge, morningglories, and glyposate resistant (and other) pigweeds.  We will be in more trouble there than we want to talk about....
