Northern Indiana | The information I posted came from my Pioneer rep who put all the info in hic computer that did the figureing. It used 2.60 price, .035 drydown cost and 15% moisture.
The way I look at this, each corn is subject to the same cost for drying, same sale price and same grade. Now you can say that you can dry cheaper, your buyer wont dock you at 15.5% or a number of other things. But the thing is, it is consistant. And that is what I use to make a informed desision.
I guess to say it another way, it is the dollars in my pocket are what I am looking at. If all my corn went to the same buyer and dryed in the same dryer it wouldnt matter at all.
Nope, dosent bother me at all. Good question! Thats how we learn!
