It even looks good here, John and Jay, through it in one plot for shats and giggles... I think they meant well when they through that in. Pioneer was the first to do it in experience but I am sure others did too at about the same time. I remember farmers looking at the yields and starting to pick out drier numbers so they put a number on it and published it. The dry down die down hybrids would yield less but with the drying costs you could supposedly prove that less was better. Now the other guys have caught and even surpassed the dry down issue so net dollars kinda backfired in their face. There are some really good genetics out there so it pays to keep looking for something better for your farm. I still rely on a 5 year hybrid because I can't find anything that will consistently out perform it but I think we are getting close so I am looking hard this year.
