Mark, we operate a Case 1200 planter and run the Schlagel press wheels, in all conditions. What I have noticed is that after a hard rain it seems to leave the ground softer and the corn is more able to emerge. In perfect conditions anything will work, but how often do we have perfect conditions. Dan
