I have planted conventional corn and beans with the cast wheels, yes they worked but would of probably been better off with the rubber wheels. I could even say that I could of yielded 10 more bushel of corn with the rubber wheels. But the rubber won't work in the no-till,,,,, guaranteed !!!!!!!!
I try to keep everything notill but do till some every year and I am not going to be changing wheels back and forth while trying to plant. The wheels that I will step up to eventually will be the new Dawn curvetines. Not a salespitch or anything but from my viewpoint and opinion they are the most valid and versatile.
Old planters are going to cost a little more to transform by needing to change out the tailpiece, I don't think new closing wheels are available for old style planters. I may be wrong !!!!!! Joe |
