Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Yes, that's what I was getting at about the brakes. The pedal hanging up (actually down too much), an incorrectly adjusted brake switch or a bad brake switch could cause this. This would keep the front from engaging and also prevent the light on the regular switch from showing that it was engaged.
If the regular engage switch is bad, it would have to be bad in the sense that it sends power out power regardless of the position of the switch. Checking the solenoid with a screw driver or knife to see if it is staying magnetized would be a good test.
Again remember that the logic is reversed, OFF is ON and ON is OFF when thinking about the electricity versus the engagement.
