| My 950 CIH is getting a little loose where the gauge wheels pivot on the arm pin. Yes, replacing the pins will help some, but there is some wear on the arm holes too. On the 800's CIH had the foresight to put a bushing that could be replaced, but by the 900 and on they are just cast iron.
Anyone ever try having a machine shop drill out the arms and put in a bushing? I'm not sure they can be drilled since it's not a perfectly round hole due to the three slots. I wouldn't say mine are horribly loose, but I'm in 100% no till and the looseness exaggerates the gap between the gauge wheel and the disc and lets dirt in. Any cures besides buying new arms? (which I won't do). | |
