NW IL | If you buy any kind of insurance policy for your buildings you will be covered for weight of ice and snow as it is a basic peril as a covered cause of loss, standard issue state mandated ISO form. I would think any company putting up a building would want you to carry it. Its just part of covering yourself and mitigating risk. Thats my point.
For a couple bucks an acre I can cover myself from those big ole derechos coming across the river every year.
And FYI, 1197 is not their racehorse. They have others I would use for that top end sprint. Here we put 1197 on the variable ground. 1311 would be your racehorse for the ground you speak of. However, we didn't use it much as it is a princess and can't handle lots of stressing factors to be great.
If 1197 only got beat by 22-38, and was green snap terrible, you know what would have been on the top if you got around that mid season wind.
I do kinda have Pioneer underwear currently, but I am a math guy. If Monsanto or Syngenta wants to start giving me a better bottom line, I'll use their seed and chemistry. Rebates on chemicals and contracting acres for seed discount really adds up.
Lastly, I would highly recommend looking into the last pass of fungicide and insecticide. I hate spending $30 an acre to do it but the point is that the seed and chemical manufacturers are all consolidating. Do you they will continue to release hybrids that do not respond to later season chemistry? I spray a couple fields every year and for the last few years it has paid every time on every one of them. I don't like it, but what can you do. | |
