Subject: Drain tile backed up because of creek water level?

Maybe a stupid question, I dont know....
In Ohio we've had 3 inches of rain last week on top of already high amounts the previous weeks. I have an old clay 12 inch main drain tile that is completely full, backed up and not flowing. This is at a "breather" standpipe about 1200 feet before the tile enters the creek. There is about 4-5 feet of fall between this breather and the creek. The creek is really high due to the heavy rains 2-3 days ago. I figured there'd be enough pressure to force that water out into the creek, but maybe not? I can say that this pressure found a few broken old clay tiles that I didnt know existed. I have never seen it backed up like this.
Anyone have any comments on this?
