I agree with 90% of what is being said. Im not involved whatsoever, I don't have money to be buying land at this point in time. To explain a few questions- I think that the reason people are getting pissed is because you barely hear about land for sale in our immediate area and this guy just outbids everyone. I think it's more frustrating than anything really, you can't get mad at a guy for having the money that you don't. A couple of the guys involved in this deal have sons that are part of the operation so they are trying to grow and they are getting frustrated at the difficulty of buying any ground. Also, this guy rents pretty much everything he buys back to one BTO. One piece he bought had been run by the same guy for 20 years. It was a couple hundred acre farm and they agreed that he would keep running it, so the guy bought a new planter from the dealer. At the end of the year the dealer called him up and said sorry I'm going to rent it to someone else.
