They are expensive. I can't remember right off hand what the skirt and bar kits cost. Seems like maybe $110 but that might not be right. The average skirted metal ring lasts me 3 years. My oldest plastic ones are probably 7-8 years and still going strong. I've had a couple break a rail but they make a kit you slide over to fix them. We feed everything with trucks with balebeds here and we really abuse these feeders. I would never go back to metal feeders. I haven't bought any metal feeders in several years but if guess these cost double of what the light duty metal ones cost. I don't see any reason they will wear out though.
