St. Joseph, Champaign County, IL | The backstabbed connections are still made,and still NEC approved, provided the correct size SOLID wire is used. Some of the backstabbed devices take #12 and #14 gauge wires, while others just take #14. That said, at work we never use the backstab option as all 3 of us have seen too many times where the connection has come loose over time and burnt the wire insulation back a couple inches. |
