Why do we build cities in where there is no water and why do we try to grow crops where there is no water. The Ogallala is dropping fast and not replenishing, this should be a wake up call, but we will pump the aquifers and rivers dry before we will admit it doesn't work. That is rangeland, not crop land. I wholeheartedly support you guys who make a living with this lifestyle and I'd be mad, mad, mad about all these cities springing up and sucking away the water, nothing out there is sustainable though, if everyone is scrambling for water now and cities usually do grow, what are they going to do in 50 more years? It is a very good example of where people think they can get everything they need with money, unfortunately Mother Nature doesn't take payment, she just gives us what we need, wether we like it or not.
