I worked construction with a guy in wva that some of the other guys working told me that he and his squad fought hand to hand with the japs for hrs and only 3 or 4 got off thanks to navy boats of a sort . archie I liked the movie also the amazing things that medic did true story Im sure some might not been the same but still amazing man. One of my unckles by marrage fought through the islands in the marine corps carrying a carbine . I heard it said he got tired of fighting in the heat of a battle and set on a stump in the wide open and took a smoke break from the action. I guess battle will make a person do strange things. | |
