EC North Dakota | The letter is a great idea. It takes work though to keep Christmas special. Church, choir, family activities, whatever.... if you remove the gift opening fun, you need to replace with something special. If only for the time together.
My wife's side of the family lost their dad when they were ages 5 to 12. After he died, they never got more than a pair of socks for Christmas. Christmas presents mean a lot to them, no matter what it is.
My side decided 30 years ago to stop giving gifts to each other. We stopped having Christmas together 20 years ago. | |
