The times have changed. People did without stuff, so a Christmas gift usually was somthing special. Now nobody goes without much of anything.
You've said so much there. The times have changed, in what we think we need and what we actually do need. I know i sound like I'm 107 years old, but it truly hasn't been all that terribly long that a big navel orange and a huge red delicious apple were true treats that only came at Christmas. Everyone, myself included, takes so very much for granted now. I sure don't think we're doing our kids/grandkids any favors, but life is what it is.
What would your reaction be to something like this from a parent?
