They did not have the deep penetrating - laser/GPS guided bombs at that time.
That battle would not occur today.
Dad was sent up a hill somewhat like that in Korea almost 8 years later.
Do not think his hill was ever taken, it is probably part of the DMZ between North and South Korea today.
