Subject: "Hacksaw Ridge" Movie and War Stories

Houston County, GA
Just saw the movie tonight, it was very good I thought. Pretty long and lots of gruesome battle footage. I come from a family of farmers and house builders. Not too much military in either side of the family. I was wondering if war is exactly how hollywood describes it. Do the enemies ever get that close to each other as they did in in WWII fighting Japan? If war is anything like the movie I don't see how you can come home and forget what you see. I have always respected our military men and women but if it is anything like the movie my hat is off even more. Would you say todays armed forces have it any easier than World Wars up to Vietnam?
