Ohio | I will be getting married here in the next few months. I am buying part of our family's farm with a house and barns on it. Looking in the plat book you see ground in trusts, LLC's, in just the landowners name, in separate names from the landowner, and many other ways too. I'm wondering what the best route to take is? Just put it in me and my wife's name or is there better ways? What is the advantage of doing it these other ways? Me and my future wife have off farm jobs. Hopefully will be farming full time some day. I will be buying it on a land contract type situation. Any advice is very appreciated. I haven't talked to my lawyer or banker about it yet. Thought I would get some free advice from you guys first! Lol. Hopefully in the future we can buy some more land if that matters. Never know though. TIA | |
