No, the responses are correct from my experience growing up in the south and working the midwest. Always remove your hat, shake with men and take your cue from the ladies about shaking hands.
Another observation, using the term Maam in the midwest and north can make many feel matronly or older. It's hard to resist but I try not to use Maam with the ladies, at least at first. | |
