your right , he farmed all his life here in Michigan.
here in the NE midwest our soils need water to yeild well , but we can get by when it,s dry, but to much and were screwed!..............I hate it when we get 8" cloud bursts.........at planting time.
I love dry warm springs too, we just dont get to many of those.
Michigan also is the dryest state east of the Mississippi river.
