I have been running the CARQUEST 86960XE for the life of my truck. Change the filter faithfully at 10,000. I have 423,000 miles on my 2006 with original injectors so, I think it does the job. It is a 4 micron filter, with the steel body.
I think the later model Duramax changed how the fuel filter life is calculated. They 06 model just did a countdown from 10,000 miles.
