Subject: RE: missing mail

West of Broken Bow
I moved to a new address this year and wondered why my regular mailman had been away for weeks. Thought maybe he had retired. Found out later he was hospitalized while fighting cancer. During his absence I went to the post office and let them know about the change of address. Did that three or four weeks prior to the move.

The mail kept coming to my old address. None was showing up at the new place. Wondered what was up. Eventually I saw my old mailman. He mentioned that none of the other postal employees had bothered with any of the 50+ address changes. Nobody even gave him a heads up about it when he was strong enough to come back to work. He made sure that my address change was taken care of promptly. That particular post office has a bad history of insubordination and employees that don't care about anything. That's putting mildly what has occurred at the post office and at houses on routes.
