If I read the tax rules you cannot deduct this on your taxes. I would rather pay the reduced monthly premium for CHM than be able to deduct an overpriced insurance that I can't afford or justify.
I see different answers with regards to funding a HSA
Account with a medical share plan. I will for sure max out our family HSA at $6,750 for 2016 to cover annual checkups.
