West of Broken Bow | The ATF is monitoring race due to the HUGE amount of guns and ammo purchased in the states and shipped back to Mexico for the cartels. I haven't heard if it's as bad as it once was. There were times when a buyer would go into a gun store and plunk down 20 or $30,000+ on guns.
The guns didn't necessarily enter back into Mexico immediately. In one cartel operation close to where I once lived, buyers working for the cartels were stockpiling weapons near Central TX. I'm not sure just how many people were involved in the states. These were all Hispanic men from what I heard.
There have been cases where false compartments under pickup bed plastic liners have been stuffed with every caliber of bullet you can imagine. They get real creative on hiding it, just like narcotics.
