Southeast WI | Dont sweat it. Going in mid day will be ok but an accident can screw it up anytime. It's Chicago. No problems on Sunday. Lakeshore Dr is nice, loads to do and see in Chicago. Have fun!
And yeah on the I pass. Borrow one if you can. We go down a few times a year and have had one for years. That makes getting around so much easier. If not it's not a deal breaker tho.
