Kingston,Mi
If I understood the presentation on PBS, this was the very last step in flight school. They were there for about 3 days, 2 days of ground school and 1 day to get the require number of landings and takeoffs in. They interviewed 1 of the pilots and he recalled the liftoff from Glenview Air Station, checking in on a landmark then calling the Wolverine for permission to land his flight. The narrator said the 5 pilots in the flight made their required 8 landings and takeoffs in 85 minutes.

The flotilla consisted of the baby flattop, (2) Coast Guard picket boats, (2) Navy cabin cruisers and (1) recovery boat equipped with a crane to hopefully pickup floating aircraft. That they had 117,000 landings and only lost about 130 aircraft and 8 lives indicates that the success ratio was pretty good.
