I also went to the St. Louis stockyards in the 1980's to haul livestock back out to packers. Always made sure the doors were locked before going in and a great relief to get loaded and back on the interstate. American Meats in Chicago and Kahns in Cincinnati were also in some pretty scary neighborhoods.
