western iowa,by Denison | we use to cover the yard lot with manure about 24 inchs thick and put more boards on top-left a hole about 18x18 open on one tank-on the other winter lots we shut the water off in the dry hole and open the drain valve at dark and first thing in the morning opened the valve back up to let water in tank-it had a automatic float-we watered 700 cattle every winter like this till the 80's and one pen still did it that way 1990-never had no juice bill but the cattle sure got thirsty-It was always cold because the oliver 77 didn't have a very good heat houser and that's what we feed with -warmest place was the sow farrowing house, but that's another story | |
