Subject: Worker contracts

Do you make employees sign contracts to work for you? If you do not, would you take exception to an employee or potential employee who asked for one? I signed a contract and regret not having an attorney review it. I felt it might imply a lack of trust. Would you take exception to an employee who asked for a delay while they took a contract to an attorney? I signed a contract stipulating 30 day to vacate employee housing not realizing state law, after a year, says 60 days. I may regret this. In some long term ranch situations, I am concerned over succession should something happen to the owners. If I am expected to be there for years, am I out of line to ask about semi-personal issues like what happens to the job, business, or enterprise should something incapacitate one of the principals? It does affect me.
